Canceled 7/30/25 7:51 PM Flood Advisory issued July 30 at 7:31PM EDT until July 30 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE... A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, City of Radford, Montgomery and Pulaski. * WHEN... Until 1030 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 729 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen since 645 pm, occasionally reaching rates of 3 inches per hour. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Toms Creek, Connellys Run, Stroubles Creek, Slate Branch, Crab Creek, New River and Back Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Radford... Fairlawn... Walton...
