* WHAT...
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...
A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Avery.

* WHEN...
Until 300 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 136 PM EDT, Doppler radar was showing lingering showers continuing to taper off across the advised area, but rain gages measured 2 to 3 inches across the greater Banner Elk area. Locally excessive runoff will continue throughout the upper Elk River basin, so remain wary of the probability of out of bank conditions, especially along Shawneehaw Creek.
Watch for water covered roads as well, throughout the Highway 194 and 184 corridors.
