Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following county, Mecklenburg.

* WHEN...
Until 815 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 615 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in an hour or less. Numerous drainages throughout the city of Charlotte were rising quickly and common flood prone areas will be temporarily inundated. High water conditions will quickly recede as fast as they were rising by mid-evening.
