A portion of west central Virginia, including the following independent cities, City of Roanoke and City of Salem. * WHEN... Until 1230 AM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 929 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Nearly 1 inch of rain has fallen since 900 PM. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Gish Branch, Carvin Creek, Mason Creek and Roanoke River. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area.
