Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, Carroll, City of Galax, Grayson and Patrick.

* WHEN...
Until 530 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 218 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Beaver Creek, Ararat River, Beaverdam Creek, Chestnut Creek, Birds Branch, Brush Creek, Burks Fork, Bull Run, Brushy Fork, Big Reed Island Creek, Crooked Creek and Dixon Branch.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
