Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Southwestern McDowell County in western North Carolina...

Until 715 PM EDT.

Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 410 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
Repeated thunderstorms producing rain rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour have affected Old Fort and surrounding areas over the last hour. Isolated nuisance flooding is likely due to runoff near areas streams and low-lying locations.
