At 1128 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles southeast of Statesville, or 6 miles east of Troutman, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Mount Ulla, Piedmont Research Station, Woodleaf, Cleveland, Cool Springs, Cooleemee, and Statesville.
